Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
This individual will be responsible for planning, preparing, and scheduling the material supply supporting and ensuring a systematic and controlled flow of approved material timed to meet production requirements and manufacturing demands. This individual will perform MRP variance analysis and review ROP execution to validate and ensure the accuracy of system triggers. Consumption rates will be used to support and validate the planning settings. Risk analysis is conducted to support the resolution and prevention of critical path material issues and ROP logic conflicts. This individual will coordinate interfunctional activity and communication. They will support regularly scheduled team meetings and coordinate with Production Control, Engineering, Quality, and Operations. Material data reports will be required and used to help ensure production materials are on time to support the schedule. This individual will advise management of any issues or concerns supporting material requirement planning activities.
This individual will work within the ERP system to plan procurements, enter requisitions, and track completion of all procurement documents supporting material arrival. They will also use the ERP system to issue the material to operations and consume the materials used in the manufacturing process. Variance reports will also be generated and managed for corrective actions.
The candidate should have a proficiency in automated computer planning and scheduling systems (Deltek Costpoint is an added plus). An advanced understanding of MRP / ROP concepts and logic is required. The candidate should be able to manage and understand the process of setting ROP parameters for inventory replenishment. The candidate should be fully capable of working alone to perform material analysis ensuring purchasing lead times, inventory levels, units of measure, and production demands are taken into consideration within all the material planning phases. Knowledge of Kanban systems and Lean Manufacturing within the material environment is needed to ensure support of all manufacturing processes. The candidate will routinely interface with other departmental functions to represent the supply chain organization. As such, the need for a high level of oral and written communication skills is important. Microsoft software is used daily to meet the requirements of the job and the candidate needs to have a high degree of proficiency in this area.
A Secret Clearance is not required for this position; however the individual must be capable of obtaining a Secret Clearance.
