Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Principal Test Engineer to work with our team in our Promontory, UT offices.
Role description & Responsibilities:
A successful candidate for this position will be part of a team that is responsible for designing, documenting and overseeing the build, installation and checkout process for test equipment. The candidate will work with Test Engineering, Program Office and Operations to validate that test equipment selected or designed will meet test needs. The candidate will be able to manage the budgets and schedules for these design projects and have demonstrated oral and written communication skills. The candidate will be expected to spend significant time (as required) in operations areas to become familiar with facility layouts in order to implement effective solutions to complex problems. The candidate will also be expected to develop requirements document for new designs and work diligently to document new/existing designs as well as provide adequate training material for new/existing systems and processes
- Circuit Design and Software Development Experience
- Instrumentation/Data Collection Experience
- Control Systems Design Experience
- NI LabVIEW Certification/Experience
- Cable Design Experience
- Candidate have previous experience working with energetic materials or chemicals and have a working knowledge of associated process equipment
Education and Experience
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required with 10 years professional experience
- PhD with 5 years experience, MS degree with 7 years experience, or BS degree with 10 years experience
