Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
Printed Circuit Board Designer with 20+ years design experience in all aspects of printed circuit board layout and development. Must have a solid working knowledge of all types of circuit designs and methodologies including thru-hole, SMT, single sided, double sided, and HDI micro-via, rigid/flexible multi-layer PCB’s.
Design experience must include designs utilizing analog, digital, high-speed, mixed technology, RF, IF, and power supply board types for space, and/or military applications. Must be familiar with current PCB design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for testing (DFT) processes/materials, IPC/military design specifications and drawing/documentation package requirements. Candidate must be proficient with Mentor Graphics (PADs) and the Power PCB toolsets, especially using PADs Router HSD/Advanced Rules. Candidate must be a team player able to work closely with engineering and support personnel during the design and build process. Candidates with the skills to implement designs using Cadence and/or Altium PCB design tools and work experience at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is a plus but not required.
In addition to performing PCB layout functions, the candidate must have experience coordinating the everyday activities of a PCB layout. These activities include estimate generation, attending design review meetings, and mentoring of other designers, and liaison to both manufacturing and engineering disciplines. Candidates must be able to develop internal design and instructional processes/guidelines.
Candidate will work in Beltsville, Maryland supporting programs for Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).
