Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a Sr. Staff Electrical Engineer to provide talent to our Defense Electronics Systems (DES) group in Northridge, CA.

Job Description

  • Senior Staff Electrical Engineer and lead for System Engineering for design, development and oversight of the implementation of new missile radar and sensor system efforts
  • Provide System Engineering support for requirements derivation and flow down, test and evaluation efforts, and generation of specifications and CDRLs
  • Diagnose system hardware and software issues, analyze system data
  • Critically review, implement and test new system approaches
  • Interface with customers, both internal and external

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide and implement solutions to radar and sensor system programs
  • Grow into position as system lead / representative
  • Interact with other AARGM missile experts and senior engineers
  • Coordinate issue resolution between various engineering and management disciplines
  • Analyze system data, evaluate system performance and support system data analysis
  • Identify issues as they arise
  • Help troubleshoot and diagnose prototype and production issues at the RF system levels
  • Define and provide system and subsystem tests and procedures
  • Grow into system subject matter expert (SME)

Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering or Physics degree and at least 9 years’ experience or a MS Engineering or Physics degree and at least 7 years in a radar related industry; Masters or higher degree and DoD contractor experience preferred.
  • System Engineering experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of missile subsystems and engineering documentation describing them
  • In-depth understanding and application of systems and subsystem interactions
  • Ability to determine causes of system issues, both software and hardware, as well as provide solutions.
  • Independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments
  • Innovative problem solving
  • Works with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and production of radar systems especially on missiles
  • Ability to obtain secret security clearance required (US citizenship required); current/active secret security clearance preferred.
