Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently recruiting for an entry level engineer to join our Dynamics Engineering Organization in our Chandler, AZ facility.
Under the guidance of a lead engineer, the candidate will develop dynamic models of launch vehicles, verify model quality, and determine static and dynamic launch vehicle loads. Candidate must be able to understand the scope of a task, perform analysis utilizing appropriate classical and computer aided techniques, and prepare results for presentation orally and in writing.
Education and Experience:
Position requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with a minimum of two years related work experience or a MS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with some related work experience preferred.
- Background in vibration theory, dynamics, statistics, and finite element method
- Working knowledge of MATLAB
- Ability to apply fundamental analytical techniques and prepare written analyses
- Position requires an active security clearance which generally requires U.S. citizenship
Preferences for the job include:
- Prior experience with coupled loads and modal analysis
- Prior or current clearance
- MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
This position can be filled at a lower level requiring a BS in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering with some related work experience preferred.
