Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr. Composite Structures Analysis Engineer to join our team in our Clearfield, UT offices. 

This is an Full Time Direct Hire Role (Must have current and Active Secret Clearance)

Role description & Responsibilities:

Highly motivated structural analysis engineer with composite structures and assemblies for military and/or commercial aircraft. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the analysis of laminates, sandwich structures, and bonded and bolted assemblies.

 

Experience Requirements: 

·     MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE

·     BS in Civil, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or related with a minimum of 4 years related experience in an analysis engineering function or a MS and 2 years preferred

·     Minimum of 2 years of experience with Abaqus and/or Nastran

·     Static structural and structural/thermal analysis

·     Buckling, stability, and modal analysis

·     Loads definition

·     Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes

·     Oral and written communication skills

·     Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team

Experience Preferred

·     Proficiency with NX, Catia V5, Fibersim, MSC Marc, Altair HyperMesh/OptiStruct, and HyperSizer are also desirable

·     Structural dynamics including random vibration and shock

·     Definition of layups and ply patterns with Fibersim to generate finite element models

·     Script writing, workflow automation

·     Constitutive Model Development and implementation

·     Requirements definition and verification

·     Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing facility

·     Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team

·     Excellent communication skills are required

·     Ability to make sound decisions

·     Ability to multi-task

·     Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

Education/Certifications:

·     BS degree in Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related
